SUBMISSION POLICIES

We do not currently have any anthologies open.

All submissions that follow our guidelines will be read. That said, Filthy Loot is a one-person operation, so response times are slow. Please expect 3 to 4 months. I’m not able to provide detailed feedback on rejections, but everyone will receive a response.

Simultaneous submissions are encouraged. Please let me know if the work is accepted elsewhere.

Before submitting, please take some time to familiarize yourself with what we publish.

FILTHY LOOT focuses on body horror, splatterpunk, transgressive horror, and underground horror. We generally avoid traditional monsters or established mythos.

TALENTED PERVERTS is separate and specific: transgressive, autofiction, perpetual nostalgia, and underground literary fiction.

CONTROL is our newest series dedicated to nonfiction titles.

Length Guidelines

NOVELLAS: around 35,000 words
We do not publish books over 40,000 words. Our 4×6 format simply does not lend itself to longer work.

CHAPBOOKS: over 10,000 words

STORIES: 2k—6k words

Please send an inquiry or pitch before submitting a full manuscript. Unsolicited full manuscripts will not be read.

NOTE TO THOSE WHO’VE READ THIS FAR:

Please don’t stress about perfect formatting, the “right” kind of cover letter, or stacking your pitch with impressive blurbs. That’s not what matters most to me.

If you’d like to make a good impression, just write to me like a real person. Be thoughtful, be clear, be yourself. That’s more than enough.
